Sacred music is considered to be more holy the more closely connected it is to liturgical action as it adds delight to prayer, fosters unity of minds, and brings greater solemnity and reverence to the liturgy.
The treasure of sacred music is to be preserved and fostered with great care. Choirs must be diligently promoted and pastors of souls must ensure that whenever the Sacred Liturgy is to be celebrated with song, the whole body of the faithful may be able to contribute in full, active, and conscious participation.
Therefore, the role of the music minister is not to perform the music as if to an audience, but to lead the faithful in music, encouraging the participation of all so that their voices may ring out in celebration of the liturgy (

At St. Pius X, we have five music ministries, each which lead the liturgical music at one of our liturgical celebrations:
