It's been 20 years since a group of families with middle school children came together to start the S.H.A.R.E. Program at St. Pius X. The purpose of the group can best be described by its acronym. S.H.A.R.E.'s goal was:
S - Spiritual Development
H - Help foster Christian family values
A - Actively participate in community projects
R - Reach out to those around us... E - Enjoy Christian fellowship
S.H.A.R.E. met from 1994-2000. The families met monthly for social activities, service projects, and informational meetings. The mothers of this group would get together once a year for a day retreat.
From this group several organizations evolved: Mass and Breakfast(or Dinner), Beach Retreat, Reflections, Walk and Lunch, Project Fishes and Loaves. These groups are active to this day.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of S.H.A.R.E., Reflections is hosting a Mass and potluck reunion in the William C Martin Family Center at ST. Pius X Church on Saturday, January 18, 2014. Mass begins at 5 PM. Potluck will follow immediately in the Family Center.
All students, parents, teachers and family members who participated in S.H.A.R.E. or any of its subsequent organizations are asked to join us for this evening. We would love to see you and your families!
