Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMHCs) are lay men and women of all ages who have received the Sacrament of Confirmation, are in "full communion" with the Catholic Church, and have been nominated by our pastor and appointed by the archbishop to serve our community.
Catholics believe that Christ is truly and really present in the Blessed Sacrament, under the appearances of bread and wine, which is the key to the beauty of this ministry. Our purpose in this ministry is to assist our priests and deacon, the ordinary ministers of Holy Communion, in the distribution of the Eucharist to the Faithful.
